I have an active social life and particularly enjoy going to the gym and exploring new challenges. These have recently included; skiing, fire eating, archery, tank driving, indoor sky diving, sailing and driving an assortment of different vehicles.
I have achieved a series of City and Guild NVQ Level 1 and 2 qualifications in Catering and Hotel Management and chose to specialise in cake design. I have largely taught myself through personal reading and research as well as attending evening classes and workshops. I am also a member of the British Sugar Craft Guild and have had three of my cake photos published in their magazine (December 2003, June 2007 and December 2008).
I am very passionate about cake decorating. I derive much pleasure from creating cakes for different purposes. From an early point in the design process, I am able to visualise the final 3-D cake image in my head. I then gain immense satisfaction from creating the cake and the response I receive from the recipients.
I produce a wide variety of cakes for special occasions, including; weddings, birthdays and anniversaries. I especially enjoy creating novelty cakes, as this allows me to be really adventurous with my creativity and produce a cake that is particularly personal to each individual.
I have made all of the cakes that appear on this website. Most of the cakes are original designs and creations of mine. However, some of the cakes I have made, often with my own special twists and adaptations, are inspired by the work of Lindy Smith, Debbie Brown and other cake decorators in various publications.
I hope you get as much pleasure from viewing my cakes as I have from creating them.
